Type of Pump

Our Ingredient Feeders can be equipped with three different types of pumps:

 Piston pump (P)

 Sliding vane pump (V)

 Scraper pump (S)

Piston Pump:

The Piston Pump gently incorporates the ingredients into the continous flow of ice cream. Ingredients drop into cylidrically shaped pockets. As the rotor turns a piston moves forward in the pocket injecting the ingredients into the ice cream flow. The large pockets prevent damage to delicate ingredients plus allow feeding of large particulates.

The combined ingredients an base product are blended together and evenly distributed by the variable speed blender agitator unit.

An agitator in the hopper prevents ingredients from bridging.

Sliding Vane Pump:

From the main hopper the ingredients are augered into the excentric chamber of the Sliding Vane Pumpe. The chamber gets smaller and smaller, and the ingredients are gradually incorporated into the product.

Scraper pump

Ingredients are augered from the main hopper to a rotor and scraper mechanism that gently incorporates the ingredients into the continuous flow of base product.
